The Caitlin County Hemp Wars News: The 2009 workshop production at the Zero Arrow Theatre was an enourmous success. We were grateful for all the wonderful talent - creative team, actors and musicians. We were also grateful that we managed to have the production when we did. The Zero Arrow Theatre is now Club Oberon, and it is doubtful whether we could have done what we did in that particular space. And what a perfect space it was. After the production, we spent some time archiving some of the video and developed a composite CD with the best audio from both the reading and workshop. We contacted some nonprofit theatres and got some good feedback and not so good feedback. Turns out that 'Caitlin County...' is too big! A cast of 10 is considered large for most nonprofits, and 'Caitlin County...' requires a minimum 15. And so, our next assignment for this academic year will be sending 'Caitlin County...' to theatre schools, drama clubs, and community theatres. (next step Broadway!) In the mean time we are taking a break and enjoying the summer. Don and I are working on a new musical (cast of 9), and have come to realize that creating a new musical is a long term affair. - TC.
