Looking back:
October 30th -
We have a date and place - November 25th at the Boston Playwrights Theatre, for what will be the historic first staged reading of 'The Caitlin County Hemp Wars'.
Several rehearsals in, and we have a pretty amazing cast and group of musicians who get better and better with each rehearsal. Our music director, Rebecca Booth-Fox, is doing a fabulous job teaching everyone their musical parts, and director Jen Vento, is stretching the limits of the script-in-hand reading to include props and blocking, so we get a better taste of the theatrical experience. Much preferable to the usual script-in-hand line up. This should be an interesting evening of entertainment!
August 14th -
Cast is shaping up for a staged reading sometime late November (exact date and place to be determined). The Caitlin County family is growing with eleven talented actors attending a second Cambridge reading (book and music) accompanied by guitar and violin! We now have a music director and are getting ready for music rehearsals in September.
July 30th -
Attended first 'living room reading' of 'Caitlin County...' in Manchester, NH. Talented group of actor/singers led by gifted music director Jamie Feinberg. Awesome! Especially the group harmonies. Great opportunity for Don and I to hear entire musical for first time, and talk about improvements we could make on the ride home.
July 3rd -
The day before Independence Day and we had our first reading of 'Caitlin County...' (in Cambridge). Music sounded good, nice group of people, and a fine time was had by all. Our next reading (book and music) will be Thursday, August 14th.
